Theresa and Brian’s Dobbs Ferry, NY Wedding Photographs

September 19, 2015

Theresa & Brian – From Twilight into the Sunset:

For us, the Hudson riverfront is a photographer’s dream. For Theresa and Brian, it’s where their dream came true. Actually, their story has always been dreamy. From its movie theater beginning watching the Twilight fantasy to Brian’s proposal in their favorite vineyard to the wedding day Palisades backdrop, romance was always the theme. Theresa herself was a dream in lace and sideswept hair at the Dobbs Ferry church ceremony led by her cousin, and at Yonkers’ Zuppa restaurant reception. The way she looked at her groom, we knew their love was nothing but real.

Ivona & Tony – No Rain on Their Parade

We were thrilled to be chosen as the photographers for Ivona and Tony at their lovely July 4th wedding at Dutchess Manor in Beacon, NY. Rain has accompanied all Ivona and Tony’s romantic milestones, from first date to proposal to our pre-wedding shoot. No surprise their July 4th wedding day at Beacon’s Dutchess Manor dawned drizzly. We lugged umbrellas along with our cameras, but, miracle of miracles, 20 minutes before the ceremony, not a drop was falling! We all had time to revel in the groomsmens’ yellow socks and Ivona’s matching painted toenails, and the Polish ska music of the bride’s heritage. No one danced more joyfully than her mom, here from Poland. The lawn gleamed, the Hudson glistened, the rainclouds vanished. Our forecast: clear and bright.

Beautiful Wedding Photography at Christ Church in Tarrytown, NY

Jackie & Derek – Dancing into the future

This newlywed couple knows how to party! Forget somber foxtrots and waltzes, Jackie and Derek got down with twerking, electronica and moves from the animated classic Dragon Ball Z. Derek’s Portuguese family smoothed it out with some traditional folk dancing, preparation for the couple’s Portuguese honeymoon. If all that dancing wasn’t colorful enough, Derek’s socks, the bridesmaids dresses, cupcakes and wedding cake glowed in vivid teal. And that crimson umbrella backdrop to Jackie’s satin gown outside Tarrytown’s stone Christ Church was a photographic stunner. The grey, cloudy weather didn’t stand a chance!

Cassidy and Jared’s Larchmont, NY Wedding

Pals to pact to perfect – Cassidy & Jared

When we shot Cassidy and Jared’s engagement photos a few months ago, we wondered if seltzer would be popped along with champagne at their wedding, since a seltzer errand played a key role in Jared’s proposal. We totally forgot to look– our eyes were glued to Cassidy’s swirling cutout-back Vera Wang gown and self-made rose and lavender bouquets. Twelve years after they made a college pact to wed if they were still single when Cassidy turned 30, they sealed it at Larchmont Temple, with Cassidy vowing to love her “rock and sweet big bunny.” Here’s wishing they hop into a beautiful future.

Biology is Destiny, Final Round – Wedding Photographs

Nine months ago, we were there for Round 1, their engagement shoot, but time hasn’t dampened Noelle and Ronald’s passion. I guess we shouldn’t have been surprised they’ve been together since college, when their passion was science before it was each other. A shared biology lab led to a dorm-kitchen spaghetti dinner, and love was next on the menu. The final course: a sumptuous wedding at Scarsdale’s Church of Saint Pius X and a reception at New Rochelle’s Glen Island Harbour Club, with a side of sunny skies and crystalline Long Island Sound waters.

Hila & Gil

September 19, 2014

Promised land to promised love – Wedding Photography

After Hila’s family made their own exodus out of Israel to New York, Gil made his own in 2010, trusty guitar in hand. And they’d be traveling a lot more, Hila with a date to see Gil’s new band, Gil running to find her after the show not knowing they’d left early. Next stop: Brooklyn, finally connecting at a friend’s party, where a blizzard left them stranded for 3 days. The adventure continued with Hila’s move to Bushwick and her need for a handyman. Trading guitar for toolbox, Gil rushed over and never left. Their next journey would be a move to Jersey City, and in August, a trip down the aisle at Bedford Corner’s Temple Shaaray Tefilah. Megan & James

Back, and Forth, to the Future – Wedding Photography

Forget the romantic first meal– Megan and James’ was in the high school lunchroom. They’d hung out a bit in middle school, partied a little and been in the drama club, but any offstage drama was not on the program. Fast forward to some casual dating in the college years, when Megan recalls finding him “more attractive and worldly.” It was apparently mutual, and in April, school lunch was traded in for wedding reception at Briarcliff Manor’s All Saints’ Episcopal Church. James rang the church bell, marking the years of their history, and there was even some of our own: our daughter was one of the bridesmaids! See the full gallery here.

Kiss, then Tell – Wedding Photography

Most couples can hold out until after the I Do’s to “kiss the bride,” but not this one! Maybe it was the idyllic setting at Chappaqua’s Crabtree’s Kittle House, but their wedded bliss certainly got an early start. Or maybe, since they met on J-Date, they couldn’t wait to prove the online-dating skeptics wrong. One thing’s for sure: this couple doesn’t waste any time; their first date was in a near-empty restaurant the day before Thanksgiving, an ideal get-to-know-you opportunity. We got plenty of our own thanks for being “kind and patient with amazing energy,” in Evelyn’s post-wedding note. You’re so welcome!

DENNIS and MICHAEL – Hooray for Gay! – Wedding Photography

It was a special privilege to shoot this wedding: White Plains’ first gay marriage! And Dennis and Michael did the new freedom proud: stunning in matching tuxes and ties. Were there ever newlyweds who glowed more? And that’s after being together for decades! Before heading off to celebrate at Serafina with family and friends, Judge JoAnn Friia offered the couple final words of advice: “Now don’t fight!” After 21 years together, we’re not worried.
